Caroline Mellott is from Exeter, New Hampshire and has been playing the harp since the age of five. She is a sought-after orchestral and chamber musician, and regularly performs with ensembles based in Boston and New Hampshire. She has played in venues including Symphony Hall, Seiji Ozawa Hall, Jordan Hall, and the Boston Opera House.
In 2019, Caroline won Third Prize in the Advanced Division of the American Harp Society's 23rd National Competition. She also was a finalist in both the 2018 and 2020 Anne Adams Awards, sponsored by the American Harp Society. Caroline was the Grand Prize winner of the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra's Young Artists Concerto Competition in 2016, and was awarded First Prize at the MA-ASTA Solo Masters Competition in 2017.
Caroline has spent summers at the Bowdoin International Music Festival studying with June Han, as well as the Boston University Tanglewood Institute where she studied with Ann Hobson Pilot. Caroline has performed in masterclasses with renowned harpists Paula Page, Julie Smith Phillips, and Sasha Boldachev, among others.
This spring, Caroline will graduate from Boston University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Harp Performance with minors in Art History and Arts Leadership. She is passionate about education and plans to establish a private harp studio upon graduating, in addition to maintaining an active performance career.
